Set in the rolling foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains, the 220
– year old Colquhonnie Hotel overlooks the Aberdeenshire Don
Valley from a South – facing, elevated site. The hotel shares
this lovely viewpoint with the Sixteenth century ruins of the unfinished,
Colquhonnie Castle, and the Historic Lonach Hall, home of |

‘The
Lonach Highlanders’. The hotel started life off as a Coaching
Inn serving the route from Deeside over the hills to the valley
of the Spey. In those days it took several days to complete the
journey by coach. Today you can reach both destinations from the
hotel in little over an hour.
The hotel incorporates MAK’s restaurant and our award-winning
chef, which is open all year round, serving both traditional meals
cooked from local and continental sources to delight and tickle
your taste buds, to coincide with this our restaurant and hotel
has been awarded the EAT Scotland food award.
The hotel has been recently awarded the prestigious Green Tourism
Award, and can boast a varied selection of wildlife, so if you are
looking for peace and tranquillity then look no further.
