"The Colquhonnie House Hotel, in the Don valley, deepest Aberdeenshire. An unlikely find in the Highlands, this roadside (A944) lodge adjacent the Lonach (village) Hall. Good base for the Castle Trail, active stuff (fishing rights on the Don) or just chilling out."

We are delighted to be an accreditied member of the 'Green Tourism Business scheme. We are privileged to live and work in the stunning Cairngorm National Park and committed to ensuring that we operate our business in an environmentally friendly way and encourage others to enjoy and help sustain the natural beauty in the area.

Set in the rolling foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains, the 220 year old Colquhonnie Hotel overlooks the Aberdeenshire Don Valley from a south-facing, elevated site. The hotel shares this lovely viewpoint with the sixteenth century ruins of the unfinished, Colquhonnie Castle, and the Historic Lonach Hall, home of ‘The Lonach Highlanders’.

The hotel started life off as a Coaching Inn serving the route from Deeside over the hills to the valley of the Spey. In those days it took several days to complete the journey by coach. Today you can reach both destinations from the hotel in little over an hour.

Colqhhonnie Hotel incorporates MAK’s???update?? restaurant and our award-winning chef, which is open all year round, serving both traditional meals cooked from local and continental sources to delight and tickle your taste buds.

The hotel has been recently awarded the prestigious Green Tourism Award, and can boast a varied selection of wildlife, so if you are looking for peace and tranquillity then look no further.
