Whats New!
The Colquhonnie Hotel has changed its trading name,to The Colquhonnie House Hotel as of the January
2008.
In our continual effort to maintain the hotel and grounds we have planted 60 trees (Rowans) either
side of the drive's leading upto the hotel.
Over the next couple of months Jan / Feb you will see changes to the appearence of the hotel.
Firstly new tourist signs are being errected to reflect the change of the trading name of the hotel,
along with the old and existing hotel signs will be replaced with new.(Still awaiting Aberdeenshire Council to completed this
task),
The new signs which have been hand painted are now all installed in position and Im sure you will agree
make the entrances and hotel 100% beter. The thanks for this must go to Mr Christopher Brown (my dad) for all his hard work.
In February, we are having installed a large walk in freezer unit outside to further enhance our kitchen
facilities.(This has now been completed)
A major improvement will also be undertaken, that of the removal of our current heating and hot water
boiler system and the installation of a new combined boiler, a more fuel efficient system,(This has also now been completed)
In May 2008 we welcomed Ms Jennie Edgar to the team of The Colquhonnie House Hotel as a full time
member of staff.
In July 2008 The Colquhonnie House Hotel attained and was awarded a GOLD Service Achievement
Award by Scottish Enterprise Grampian at The Marcliffe Hotel and Spar Aberdeen, Mr David Knight Partner of The Colquhonnie
House Hotel collected the award from Mr Stuart Spence Owner of the Marcliffe a buffet lunch and presentation, accompanying
David was Mr Paul MacLennan, Partner and staff members Margarte Knight and Jenny Edgar.
Further improvements are planned for the hotel, the process of starting refurbisment of the
lounge bar area, accommodation will be under way in the next couple of months, the purchase of new chairs and tables have
been made and now in situ.
We are pleased to announce that the entire hotel is WI Fi, this means that guests can access the internet
from the comfort of rooms, lounge bar, resturant, public bar.
What a great way to start 2009, The hotel has been awarded a Gold Award by the Best Bar None, and both
Paul and David have been invited to attend the award ceremony in February to collect the award to be presented by the Lord
Provost.
Whats On!
The 10% discount scheme has now bee re-introduced as of the 1st September 2008 for local
residents, these should be in the post.
Don't forget our Curry and Quiz Night on 27th September 2008, with our resident
Quiz Master Mrs Pip Mackie bookings now being taken contact the hotel for further information.
The Chinese and Quiz on 29th November 2008 with our resident Quiz Master Mrs Pip MacKie.(The Chinese
Quiz was a great sucess with Kerry and Craig Team coming in at first place, a great way to start the Guiness Challenge Shield
sponsored by Guiness.
The Next Quiz which is a Mexican will be held on January 29th 2009 and was sold out within five
minutes of the ending of the Chinese Quiz, a further quiz will be held in March 2009.
A special Valentine's Menu is being held on Saturday 14th February 2009, a three course meal for just
